Isa Whitaker is a Brazilian artist based in Portugal. Her work is rooted mainly in watercolor illustration, from which she expands into other materials, techniques, and surfaces.
Exploring geometry, anatomy, and botany, her work seeks to reveal a hidden layer of the world — one that highlights the possible connections between multiple elements. By weaving together the external world with inner feelings and thoughts, her compositions form a universe that invites viewers to move through psychedelic landscapes and reflect on the meanings and symbols that emerge within her paintings
Isa holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and a master’s degree in Education and Training – Social and Cultural Development from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. She has six years of experience teaching Art at different educational levels in Brazil, as well as extensive experience in the cultural scenes of the places where she has lived.
